The most significant impacts of the Portuguese arrival in Malay Archipelago was the disruption and disorganisation of the spice trade network mostly as a result of their conquest of Malacca. The spice trade soon revived but the Portuguese would not be able to fully monopolize nor disrupt this trade. Source : [link]

Indonesian traders opposed the spice trade monopoly imposed by the Portuguese, as they prefer free trade for every merchant from every nation. In retaliation Indonesians smuggled their spices to Banten sultanate (Indonesia), Aceh sultanate(Indonesia) & Johor sultanate(Malaysia). These three ports kingdoms transform into major trade centers in 17 centuries.

Philippines was married to Brunei before Spain

then in the Future Singapore and Malaysia got married and separated
